POPE FRANCIS SET TO DECLARE 35 NEW SAINTS

Pope Francis declares 33 martyrs and 2 others from Brazil, Mexico, Spain and Italy, as the Catholic Church’s new saints on Sunday at a Canonization Mass in Rome’s St. Peter’s Square.  They include 30 Martyrs of Natal killed during in an anti-catholic persecution by Dutch Calvinists in 1946, and 3 indigenous martyrs from mexico called The Child Martyrs of Tlaxcala (Juan, Cristobal and Antonio) killed between 1527 to 1529 for refusing to denounce their catholic faith.

The remaining two are European priests. The first is a Spanish Piarist Father called Manuel Miguez Gonzalez, founder of The Daughters of Divine Shepherdess,while the other is an Italian Cappuchin priest, Angelo De Acri, who died in 1739.
